An Inspiration

Joseph Bender works daily with Pennsylvania dairy farmers to improve production, profitability and well-being for both dairy cattle and producers. Bender is also an excellent classroom teacher and was honored this spring by the University of Pennsylvania’s College of Veterinary Medicine with its Zoetis Distinguished Teacher Award. The prestigious award is voted on by the veterinary student body. Noted one student: “Dr. Bender is truly an inspiration to those he meets and teachers. He is an enthusiastic educator, encouraging students to think logically about problems and to constantly scrutinize their preconceptions.” Bender is an assistant professor of clinical dairy production medicine at Penn Vet.
