Online Portal for Consultations


  • The LVMC has a unified online portal for requesting consultations from our specialty services
  • The Consultation Portal allows our referral partners to submit consultation requests directly through the LVMC’s secure medical records system (CVIS)

Consult Portal

The consult Portal allows you to submit case information and ask questions to an LVMC clinician about the management of a patient not currently being treated by the LVMC. This includes potential referral cases for which you need medical advice.

Key Features:

  • Consult Availability: Consults remain open for 24-48 hours.
  • Reopening Cases: Consults can be re-opened at no additional fee for up to three months.
  • Fee: A $50 charge will be applied to your ISU VMC Clinic account upon submission.

Case Consultation Submission

  1. Navigate to the CVIS login page
  2. Sign in using your clinic’s CVIS user credentials (OR request a new account by completing a CVIS Pre-Registration Form)
  3. Choose “VMC Consult/Refer” from the main menu and follow prompts to initiate a new consultation
