NEW! Online Portal for Consultations

Background

• The LVMC has created a unified online portal for requesting consultations from our specialty services
• The Consultation Portal allows our referral partners to submit consultation requests directly through the LVMC’s secure medical records system (CVIS)

Benefits of the Consult Portal

• Expedited initial consultation process
• Direct and secure communication with specialists
• Ability to share patient bloodwork, radiographs, and other images directly through the portal
• Improved communications – no more “phone tag”!
• Send and receive messages at your convenience

If you need to submit case information to ask questions of an LVMC clinician regarding the management of a patient not currently being treated by the LVMC, including potential referral cases that you need medical advice for.

Consults remain open for 24-48 hours and can be re-opened with no additional fee for up to 3 months. Note: Selection of this option will result in a $50 charge to your ISU VMC Clinic account upon submission.

Case Consultation Submission:

1. Navigate to the CVIS login page
2. Sign in using your clinic’s CVIS user credentials (OR request a new account by completing a CVIS Pre-Registration Form)
3. Choose “VMC Consult/Refer” from the main menu and follow prompts to initiate a new consultation
