A passionate associate veterinarian now, Melissa Garcia Rodriguez will be the first to tell anyone her love for animals didn't start out that way. "When I was a kid, I'd see a dog in the middle of the street, and I'd start to kind of run away and start to cry," Garcia Rodriguez said. "I'd jump on my mom or the closest person's back. I'd start bawling because I was afraid of the dogs." Now, Garcia Rodriguez is over that childhood fear and has been for some time. She works at the Adair County Veterinary Clinic in Greenfield as an associate veterinarian. "It means that you're working for another veterinarian that owns the practice," said Garcia Rodriguez. "So I'm kind of the plus one or the additional one that's working here."
