Dr. Aaron Colwell ('20)

Just a few years after graduating from Iowa State University, Dr. Aaron Colwell was named the recipient of the 2023 Nebraska Veterinary Medical Association Young Veterinarian of the Year Award. Colwell is a veterinarian at Eastside Animal Center in Gothenburg, a clinic he joined after graduation. “In my opinion, Aaron’s depth of knowledge and client communication skills are better than many veterinarians who have been practicing for years. He is quickly becoming the ‘go-to guy’ in our clinic for working up difficult cases and has pushed our clinic’s standard of care to a new level,” wrote Randy Burge, DVM, in his nomination letter. “He continually pushes himself to be the most well-rounded veterinarian he can be. Just as importantly, Aaron recognizes the value of community service that is the lifeblood of many small towns and has embraced it.”
