Admission Criteria

1. Must hold a BS degree in the biological or physical sciences OR a DVM degree from an accredited institution in the US or an approved institution overseas.

2. Highly recommended undergraduate courses: anatomy, physiology, cellular and molecular biology, physics, chemistry, biochemistry, and calculus.

3. Applications must include:

   • Official college transcripts: GPA equivalent to 3.0/4.0 or above

   • Optional: Official GRE scores (BMS code: 6306)- Quantitative: 150; Qualitative: 150; Writing: 3.5

   • Fluency in English:

     1. Official test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of at least 550 (paper-based), 197 (computer-based), 79 (internet-based) OR

     2. Official International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of at least 6.5

     3. Tests waived for native English speakers and students graduating from countries where English is the official language

   • Personal Statement and resume

   • Three letters of recommendation

• Complete the free online Preliminary Application Form

• Complete the ISU Graduate College online application, submit 3 letters of recommendation and unofficial test scores and transcripts (official scores and transcripts are requested upon acceptance to the program).
